January – what does that mean to you?
Do you think of this as a time to make resolutions, unwind and rejuvenate?
I am not a big fan of new year’s resolutions but I do think January is the perfect time to take a break – slow down and reflect on where we are and where we’d like to be.
With the holidays behind us and the long days of winter solstice here; things do seem to slow down a bit. This is a wonderful time to reflect on life and what is really important.
When I look around I see so many of us dashing through life exhausted, barely able to drag ourselves from one event to the next. Is this how it has to be?
Surely, there is a better way.
Now I do not profess to have all the answers and even with all of my good ideas; I fall into the same traps as many of you: too many things to do, too little time to do them. At least not without a toll on my health and state of mind.
I think one of the very best things to do to improve our health and well-being is to get a little extra sleep. Maybe a lot of extra sleep.
Did you know that getting plenty of sleep is one thing we can do to improve our hormonal health?
And it seems that since our hormones drive almost every thing we do – that’s a good place to start.
January is the perfect time to take a few extra hours here and there catching a few more hours of sleep. Let our bodies heal and restore good health.
I’m making getting lots of extra sleep my priority this month. How about you? Do you think getting extra sleep could help your health?
And while I’m thinking about it, what are some of your concerns – whether that concerns health or emotional concerns; I’d like to know. What are you working on this month?
